RECAP: HONORED BY THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
On Friday June 15th, 2012
I was honored by our LA City Council for my service to the community
over the years as an artist and muralist and recognition for the 10 years that Crewest
has been around showcasing local and international talent to our Angelinos.
Special thanks to Councilwoman Jan Perry's office for making this happen!
It was a treat for me and my family to be honored in this way.
Councilwoman Perry saying some good words..HELLO! (don't know why thats there)
Councilmen Tom LaBonge and Jose Huizar also chimed in with some nice words.

QUICK PIECE IN GARDENA

The young homies from Paris (TonyOne and Sucr) were in town so we hit a quick wall in Gardena before they headed back to France.
Not the optimal conditions, but we made do climbing on barrels and dumpsters, quickly realized I ain't 18 years old anymore! Enjoy the pics..

A DECADE OF GRAFFITI SPIRITS
As part of my gallery Crewest's 10 Year
Anniversary exhibition, I am featuring a mini-solo exhibit in the
Front Room of the gallery showing the direction of my newest body of work.

In my 10th solo exhibit "A Decade of Graffiti Spirits" focuses on figurative acrylic
and aerosol paintings on wooden panels.

These paintings involve my colorful and bold trademark character creations coined, "Graffiti Spirits" as they are super imposed onto fields of spray painted tags and layers of paint.

The underlying tags in the paintings are negative statements of culture, politics, and overall social angst.

The characters painted are meant
to be a positive force of creation overcoming the negativity behind them.

These characters depict the spirit of the artist as he pulls himself out of the negative environment by means of his graffiti background.
