LACMA DOCENTS: GRAFF TOUR

So last week I led another one of my LA graffiti tours that I organize for private and corporate groups.  This time I was contacted by LACMA Docents and I put together a 2 hour tour for the group which was about 60 people deep!

We met up in DTLA and I showed them some of the nice productions by crews like CBS, MSK, K2S and artists like Risky, How/Nosm, and Mr. Cartoon.

I explained to the group some of the basic terms and philosophies of graffiti and street art.  They had some excellent questions and were blown away by so much art that they had never seen or experienced so intimately.

We wrapped up the tour back at my studio where I showed them some of my paintings, old and new.

Proof that graff and street art are not only for the young, but the young at heart!

If you would like to have a tour for your group or company just contact me and we'll make it happen!

BON JOVI MURAL

I was recently commissioned by Staples Center to create a mural for rock band Bon Jovi to welcome them to Los Angeles for their sold out concert on April 19, 2013.

I integrated their iconic logo bursting out of a brick wall with a Bon Jovi piece on it. Nothing too crazy, just something fun and simple, with DTLA buildings silhouetted in the background.

Best part is I got to keep the canvas.

So if you're in the market for a 10'x14' canvas with your favorite band Bon Jovi graffitied across it, then lets talk!

Here's the final result, enjoy the pics and videos.

COUPLE OF INDIANS ON WINSTON...BUFFED!!

Me and Vyal created this new piece last week on the corner of Los Angeles St and Winston in DTLA.
The piece attracted a lot of positive attention in the Skid Row area and even business owners noticed a slight increase in sales the week that it was up.

Somehow, mysteriously, as of August 7th, the mural has been buffed, erased, GONE!

The only witness to the buffing was a security guard at the Jeffries across the street.  He said it looked like a city crew but the Downtown BID and the Office of Community Beautification graffiti abatement crews have all gone on record saying they were not involved.

If anyone has any information as to who might have done this please let us know.

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures of what once was...
