LA BULLA EXHIBITION WAS A SUCCESS!

On April 3oth I curated a unique Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) inspired exhibition at Plaza de la Raza in Lincoln Heights. The event was incredible! Antonio Pelayo (Pelayo Productions) did a great job producing this event which included not only our art exhibit but also live lucha libre, film screenings by Hola Mexico Film Festival, great music by Dj Sloepoke and by El Conjunto Nueva Ola, lucha fashion show and so much more. Here's a quick video to give you a taste of what it was like that night.

Below is a slideshow with some of the paintings from our exhibition.

FUSE 2016: WYNWOOD MURAL TOUR

I just got back from Miami where I spoke at FUSE, one of the largest design conferences in the country.  I led a group of about 22 on a graffiti and street art mural tour through the colorful streets of the Wynwood Arts District.  With the help from my friend and co-presenter, Mikel Cirkus, we walked around for about 3.5 hours sharing our views and insights on the art murals, graffiti culture, street art trends, and big developer agendas which have turned this once run down warehouse district into the thriving hip urban center it has become.  Below are just a few pics we took.  To really take it all in, put it on your to-do list next time you are in Miami!

Nice little re-cap of our tour by CAPSULE director, Kitty Hart. CLICK HERE.

CAAM: CHARACTER DESIGN WORKSHOP

On April 2nd I led a character design workshop, with my friend and LA artist Gustavo Alberto Vaca at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles. As the museum is currently hosting a retrospective exhibition of our good friend and P-Funk artist Overton Loyd, we decided to honor his talents as a character illustrator by offering this free public workshop.

The workshop quickly filled up with over 40 creative kids, teens, and teens at heart.  The outpouring of energy, creativity, and artistic freedom was truly contagious.  We want to thank everyone that came through and participated! Here are some pics of the art created.

Don't miss Overton's show "Rhythm of Vision"!!

NUVISIONS STUDIO - INTERIOR MURAL

Recently I was commissioned by the cool guys over at NuVisions Studio to create one of my large black and white graffiti spirits on their wall. I had been wanting to do this character for a while now and this was the perfect setting for it! My first Go-pro time-lapse of a mural and some great pics by Gil (Onionskin Photography). Shout out to Greg and the whole crew out there!

COMMISSION FOR FIDELITY NATIONAL TITLE - DTLA

Fidelity National Title recently commissioned me to create a unique and colorful graffiti style mural in the reception area of their new offices.

Located on the 44th floor of the 555 Flower building in Downtown LA., the abstracted letterform spells out the word ANGELS.  This is a nod to the beautiful views the city has to offer when seen from up so high up.

It's a new landscape out there for companies yearning for authenticity and beauty at the same time.  I really enjoy doing this type of work for clients.  Enjoy!

#MILKLOVESART PROJECT

Cow sculpture I was commissioned to paint by the people who brought you the Got Milk? campaign (California Milk Processor Board)

All art will be put on auction with the proceeds benefitting the Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a great charity working with kids fighting cancer.
