Still sad that such a pioneer of music doesn't have the

I agree that it might be easy if some of the Hip Hop big ballers (mcees, producers, djays, etc) just throw in some cash and helped a brother out, but in reality it's real proof once again that our government is failing us.

FOWLER MUSEUM PANEL TALK AND RE-CAP

I spoke at the Fowler Museum last Thursday night (Jan.13th) alongside Retna, Aaron Rose, Patrick Polk and it was moderated by Jori Finkel from the LA Times.

The evening was very interesting to say the least.

If you missed the event it is worth checking out the hour long video here:

Speaking with photographer Larry Yust

Saying hello to some fans!

Sidenote..
MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch was in the crowd that night and walked away seemingly unscathed by any further talk of the controversy he created. No one talked about the Blu elephant in the room!

I think the moderator purposefully avoided the censorship question and not enough questions were allowed during the Q&A, because I definitely spotted some freedom fighters waving their hands in the air trying to get a question in!

Also, I wonder why Deitch didn't introduce himself to me that night?
I've yet to meet him...

Maybe he was too busy trying to find out who passed out these condoms:

I like what these guys are doing, finally some artists using their brains + art to create a voice against censorship in America!

ABOUT:
"All For Angels" is a benefit concert event series raising money for AngelCare's international program helping children orphaned or stripped of their home and possessions by the January 12, 2010 devastating earthquake in Haiti. Norwood Fisher, one of the organizers of the legendary punk/rock band, Fishbone, has been recently made the official spokesperson and producer of this event series. Angelcare, a program through non-profit organization Americans Care & Share, will all donate proceeds to children and other residents of Haiti who are still in desperate need of medical care, shelter, clothing and education.  The show will be on the first anniversary of last year's devastating earthquake.  Additional event dates throughout the year will be announced.
