ICE CREAM LAB: LIL' TOKYO + WESTLAKE

Two more interior murals done for my favorite ice cream spot in LA:
Ice Cream Lab!  They just opened in Little Tokyo and about to open in
Westlake.  Great to see how fast these good guys are growing!

ICE CREAM LAB - PASADENA

Ice Cream Lab just opened their second location in Pasadena and I was asked again to help them with the interior murals. Apparently my mad scientist character has become a big hit!
Look out for more collaborations as they keep expanding their ice cream empire!

ICE CREAM LAB MURAL

I was asked to create a mural for the new Ice-Cream Lab in Beverly Hills.  They create ice cream by instantly freezing the cream or yogurt base with liquid nitrogen which creates an awesome smokey effect.  The result is a scientific approach to ice cream-making and its done before your eyes!  Naturally the theme of a scientist in a lab came to mind.

They wanted the mural to have a graffiti aesthetic but not too hardcore so it would better appeal to their demographic.  So this is what I came up with:

Needless to say they loved it!
Here I am with the happy co-founders of the Ice-Cream Lab, Tommy & Joseph:

The branding needed to be just right and they gave me a lot of liberty in playing with their logo and mural in general.

This was a fun gig and I look forward to painting up their other shops as the brand takes off, which I know it will.

Make sure you head down there, you're gonna love the ice cream and hopefully the art too!
They are located at: 9461 S. Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Here's a cool video of the making of the mural and the initial tasting party. Check it!

DOCKWEILER STATE BEACH MURAL

The great guys at the Mobile Mural Lab put together a great public art project that they designed at Dockweiler State Beach.

They asked me to take part and invite some youth.  So I made it a family event and got my kids and niece to help me out.

Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

They loved the free form spray painting.

Eventhough I had nothing to do with the design (I just helped with the tags on the walls) I think the final result was awesome!
